Let’s make a BARN community quilt for the Bainbridge Island Quilt Festival on September 10, 2022, on Winslow Green! The photo shows our inspiration. We need you to make this a reality! BARN volunteer and expert in many Fiber disciplines, Terry Winer, will lead us.
We’ll meet in BARN’s Fiber Studio, and you can sew there or at home.
* See link below for details about materials and construction.
July 24: Discuss project, bring fabrics to cut and start to sew pieced squares. Plan to continue sewing pieced squares and start making finished blocks during the week.
July 31: Continue piecing fabric and making finished half-square triangle blocks. Agree on fabric for binding and backing.
During the next two weeks: at home or in the Studio, finalize remaining blocks.
August 14: Agree on final layout of blocks and sew together. Give finished top, backing, and batting to our volunteer quilter for quilting. Sew binding strip.
August 21 or 28: Attach binding. Stay tuned for confirmation of the date.
September 9: Drop off quilt for Quilt Festival!
Please note: It will be great if we don’t have to buy anything to create this quilt. Please use your stash to make your blocks, and if you can, please share your stash with others.
Come join us and then admire our quilt at the Quilt Festival in September!
