Beginning Bookmaking

We will begin with the basic skills of folding and cutting paper while discussing tools, paper grain and the differences between a variety of papers used in bookmaking. Starting with a paper covered, sewn, single section, we will move on to a single section with a board cover. In the afternoon, we will sew a multiple section book with a cover. To save time, the paper and board will be pre-cut and supplied to students in a kit. Needles, thread, decorative papers and all tools will be supplied.

• Please bring a bag lunch. We have a refrigerator and microwave located on the lower level near the Print & Book arts studio.
