**This workshop will be live streamed via Zoom. Class time is Pacific Daylight Time**
Get a sewing machine they said. You’ll be able to make all your own clothes and quilts and home décor, and you’ll be a sewing Jedi they said. And all of those dials, buttons, bobbins, feet, thread weights, and needle sizes? GAH! If that machine ever made it out of the closet or out from under the table, setting it up and actually making it do what you want it to do is, well, not as easy as they made it sound and certainly not as easy as they made it look in the demo. We feel your pain. Expensive doorstop anyone?
We’ll help you demystify the basics of machine sewing with a tour of the most common features found on every sewing machine. Then we’ll help you through basic machine set up and help decipher thread weights and needle sizes and types. Finally, we’ll put needle to fabric and sew everything from basic straight stitches to zig zags and decorative stitches. We’ll even show you a few of our favorite hacks we discovered when we had one of those machines we got on sale at the big box store with a 50% off coupon.
This is the perfect class for the beginning sewist, or someone who just wants to know a little more about the ins and outs of machine sewing.
