Ginny Smith is back by popular request!  Everyone loves the shirt she wore for our last class, one Ginny designed herself. The pattern will be redrafted for students to trace and make with her instruction. A truly custom design just for BARN!

This class is so much more than making a blouse. Build your garment-making skills with a couture expert. Learn how to make clothes that fit well and that you love.

This is a fabulous opportunity to work with Ginny Smith, the owner of one of the best fine fabrics stores in the United States: Ginny's Fine Fabrics. Her Facebook page reflects the wide world of fabrics that can be found in her Rochester, Minnesota store.

Student SuppliesStudent Supplies to bring to class:

  • 3 yards of fabric,
  • interfacing
  • 6 buttons
  • tracing paper.

Instructor Bio: Ginny has spent her life teaching people to sew well.  She supplies fabulous fabric so that don’t have to work very hard to make a garment that beautifully fits.  She also loves to make garments for her customers, friends and family

Ginny says she is "Mom taught" --  and mostly learned sewing methods through trial and error and with the help of wonderful teachers. She has owned Ginny's Fine Fabrics for 41 years (and reports that the store has been in existence in five locations within two blocks for those 41 years).

Ginny received rave reviews when she taught this class earlier at BARN, so come and get in on the fun.
