(This is a 10 sessions class)

In this class you will combine creative ideas with mechanisms to build a moving sculpture that can be a toy, a decorative table piece, or a whimsical carousel. We will explore various types of motions and how to build mechanisms to bring movement and life to these automata. With instructor guidance, in this two week class, you can build a mechanized automaton.

There will be a Materials Fee of $30 added at the time of registration.

  • Please complete and bring this permission slip to the first day of class.

Michael Gunderson moved to Bainbridge after more than thirty years in California public education. His degree is in the arts, and he has taught classes in art, jewelry, ceramics, and the trades, as well as serving as an activities and athletic director. Michael has always enjoying working with youth. He likes to solve visual problems: proposing a situation and using "look" to openly create a visual answer, whether it be paint, wood or combinations of media. He's looking for the fun and the wacky.
