A Special Members-Only Free Event:
Join us to carve pumpkins!
Join us on Saturday, October 30th, and bring your pumpkins! We'll be carving, painting, and decorating as we welcome the changing season together at BARN. We will be outside, at the tables under the canopies out back. We'll have warm beverages to keep us cozy as we carve from noon - 2 pm.
We hope to see you here on Saturday the 30th!
If you have questions, please contact our Membership Coordinator Jen Primm at email@example.com
Making a film isn’t as hard as you think! Many people assume that filmmaking requires fancy equipment and expensive software, but for this class all you need is a phone with a camera and a computer (preferred), iPad, or iPhone that can run iMovie (a free editing software). No experience necessary.
During this class, you will create a short film of 2-5 minutes. Starting at the very basics of what makes a good story, we will work our way through screenwriting, shooting, and editing. At the end, if time allows, there will also be a wrap party where you show off all your hard work! After taking this class, in addition to producing a short film, you will come away with the knowledge and materials to continue creating short films on your own, whenever you want.
Ayla is a teen that has always enjoyed watching movies, but she really fell in love with filmmaking during a week-long internship in 8th grade. Since then, she has taken five other film classes through school, the New York Film Academy, and the School of Creative and Performing Arts (SOCAPA), and produced over ten short films and documentaries.
High schoolers, come on down to BARN for an evening of games, friends, music, and creativity! You're not going to want to miss it. You'll get to choose from activities like cooking, woodworking, sewing, jewelry-making, metal-working, and more - every month is a different lineup. You can also just hang out and chill or work on your own projects.
This fall, our Teen Nights will be based outdoors, with some activities taking place under our large canopies and some small group activities happening inside our facility. All participants will be required to wear masks and only students who are fully vaccinated will be permitted in the building.
No registration is required, but teens will be asked to sign in and out and provide a parent phone number and email address upon arrival.
Bring a friend or come on your own and meet new friends.
Teen Nights are generously funded by a grant from the City of Bainbridge Island. BARN is pleased to partner with Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Boys & Girls Club of Bainbridge Island, and Bainbridge Youth Services for this event.
This is a BARN holiday. Doors will be locked to members and non-members.
We invite BARN Staff, Board Members, and Studio Committee Members to join us on Zoom on Monday, February 28th from 5-6:30pm for our fourth annual BARN Community Meeting where we gather to discuss topics relevant to the future of BARN.
More information about this year's topics will be posted soon. You will be notified when registration opens.
